They are not sending them UPS, they get sea container(s) full of them.

Add the cost to mfgr them, and send them on a ship to the US and they are still cheaper than having them made here.

Be ready for everything to cost 5x what it costs. This is a good idea, but when you need to buy something like a hammer, it is going to cost 120.00 for a "cheap" steel one.

well it makes me want to go out and check now... can this be checked without removing the spare tire... Since I've moved off the farm I don't have access to tools. At least wanted to take a peek and see what the casing and sides looks liked.. Wont be able to check bottom till I get more tools tho.

No sir - best to pop the tire, as to get a really good view of the activity on the backplate, you will need to unbolt the FPDM from the crossmember.

You probably want to do that anyway to clean /add protection / install a standoff solution anyway ...

If my Edge is throwing the code p1233, is my problem going to be the FPDM or may it be something else in the system? My truck is running fine....haven't had a stall or no-start situation...yet!!

i have a 1999 f-150 4.2 AT and am haveing fuel pump problems droped my spare tire and i dont have one there is like a round shaped thing across the frame thats it ? anyways fuses are all good relays kick in after 186K i guess its time for a fuel pump.

Well i checked my 07 after reading this thread and there it was cracked. Ordered a new one.

 

Well I just came in from replacing my module. It looked cracked upon inspection but when i removed it WOW major rot on the back side with a huge hole. The truck is 3.5 years old!
I would highly recommend this preventative maintenance to anyone who's vehicle is exposed to any road salts.

 

I took a look at my FPDM a couple months ago, and there wasn't much going on under it, a little corrosion, but nothing like what some guys have pics of on here.

For a little PMCS, I got a little piece of neoprene from the shop I work at and cut to fit under the aluminum mounting plate, and stuck it in between the FPDM and the cross member. Neo works good for dissimilar metals protection.

Oh yeah, 04, in Wisconsin, a nice salt belt state.

 

Read this thread last night, went out and with bright flashlight, took a look. Looks OK but where it's at, agree on need to drop spare and remove bolts to better inspect. Looks like a good day to do it today, mid 50s.

Noticed though that's it's over on drivers side and top side is visible from looking through fender opening towards rear on back side of round tube, great place to catch AND hold mud and stuff.
