Installed IPhone/Ipod Controller For Factory Stereo (2006)
I don't recall an actual "pause" command. I've never seen a need to pause anyway. If you turn the head unit off it will stop the ipod, and it will pick up in the same spot when you turn it back on.
Here is what I used
PAC IS335. Plugs into the red/white plugs on your USA Spec. I drilled a hole to the left of the cigarette lighter. When you pull the trim around the radio off you can there is a place where another plug would be with probably a lariat edition. Drilled there with just a bit smaller bit than the actual part that goes into the dash. Works great and I can plug straight in and when done I don't have a cord all over the place. Can be rolled up and put in console.

Lowest price
I know its been a while since this has been posted on, but I searched high and low for the best price. I found it at www.carstereosforless.com for $109.95 shipped to my door. Well.... kind of, i'm sitting here on my day off looking out the window for the UPS man to bring it...... waiting..... and waiting.... I already pulled the stereo and dash trim 5 hours ago... i'm about to go insane.
just wanted to chirp in to take this to another step. If you have the audio input jack on top, you can remove having the stereo cable from your phone/mp3 player and having to hook it up everytime with a blue tooth adapter from BluBridge http://www.miccus.com/products/blubridge-mini-jack-rx
basically it makes your factory radio a bluetooth accepted device, just pair it with your bluetooth enabled phone or mp3 player and it will work as soon as you get in, if your phone or device isnt blue tooth, they also offer a device to make it blue tooth enabled.
its only $40 from buy.com, i mean a wire isnt a big hassle but it is cool if you got the cash and dont want a wire, clutter, hooking it up everytime or so someone else in the car can play the music or use your phone while the music still plays.

I just wanted to say thanks for this amazing write up. I know it was 2 years ago but this has been on my to do list for quite some time now and I was just drawing a blank as to how I wanted to do this.
Thanks!
