Great job, very cool idea. My good Buddy did the same thing for his 2000 Dodge Ram and I thought it was a great idea too. He took it a step further and put the Dodge Ram head on it with a white stencil. He was pretty proud of his handy work. I must admit I thought it was pretty cool too!! I should probably put it on my new Lariat as soon as possible. Once the bugs start to build up in the fins, it would be hard to go back to like new condition. Do you think regular nylon window screening would hold up to the task. I have some and could make a screen and install it when my truck is delivered. Does anyone have rough dimensions. I would like to make one and install it before I even drive it home.

I had a 944 Porsche I sold a couple of years ago. When I replaced the water pump I blew out the radiator and A/C condenser cooling fins with compressed air from behind (Low PSI) and then hosed it out with garden hose. It was amazing the trash that came out of it. Some embedded rocks and other trash I had to leave in it, because I was afraid of it leaking if I went to far. I think the engine ran 20*+ cooler from that point onward. After putting a Bra on it, I never had the problem again. Keep in mind that the 944 air intake sat very low and ingested quite a bit of dirt and road debris. The Bra did have a screen like this thread suggests, and I never had a problem since.

Nice job DJL. Did you remove the clip for the secondary hood release to the left of the horn. I was concerned about that, being afraid the cable might interfere with the hood opening and closing or get snagged while the hood was opening or closing.

I made one for mine too, although not as elaborate, it should serve the same purpose.
