My truck doesn't have the ashtray. Can't get my fingers under the bottom of the trim piece. I can easily pry from the top. Can I pull from the top without breaking anything?

 

Get a flathead screwdriver in the bottom corners to start it off. It's easier if you start at the bottom, and if you happen to marr the bezel with the screwdriver, you won't notice it at that postition. I've had mine off like 6 times and haven't left a mark on it from the screwdriver yet.

 

Could you post some pictures of how to run my Power Wire from my Amp to my Battery through the Fire Wall of my 2006 F150. If at all possible.

 

What amp are you hooking up? Don't bother going through the fire wall. If you dont have the factory sub hooked up, Use a mini fuse 'add a circuit' from fuse #38,the top pin is hot side the bottom is the accessory side. Or use another Fuse position that isn't being used, it's easier than going through the firewall.

A good auto parts store has 'em. I got the type that gets plugged in with the regular mini fuse. You then tap into that with a spade type connector.

 

Hi I have a 2006 Ford F-150 XL w/ out an ahh tray its kinda like a cell phone storage. would you know how to take that out?

 

NU. Have you had any problems with power consumption, Is this new for the 06's or can you do this with any fuse box.

 

I've had no problems at all. For the 2005(my application), position #38 is the correct fuse point to power the Stock Sub woofer.
I don't know what it is for the 2006, but it's probably the same.

They make fuse taps for just about every type of fuse block.

 

I am trying to find out if I can connect my IPOD directly into the vehicles radio. I notice there is an AUX button and there is nothing connected to it and if I can connect it there.

pie.net ...Precision Interface Electronics makes an adapter to go from the 16 pin aux port on the back of the radio to rca's or an ipod input...check them out, theyre pretty good units, I have one in my truck with RCA's and I soldered up an RCA to 3.5mm headphone jack, and put the jack next to my cig lighter.

 

I just want to take a moment to pay homage to this post. It was quite possibly the most helpful post to almost everyone on this site. It's almost six years old and it's still being used today. I'm actually going to reuse it this week to remove what I put in there four years ago. I'll bet it's the longest running post in the '04-'08 forum.

 

No kidding! I was just saying how I could have used this a week ago and was reading through some of the posts, and bam! There was a post from me 3 or 4 years ago. In fact Im gonna re-route my ipod hook up to the center console from the glove box now. Thanks - AGAIN!

I just ordered a JVC112C3159 - FM TRANS/SWITCH to hard wire my JVC cradle to the radio on my 04 Lariat, it has the single CD with (I believe) an unused AUX button Radio head unit.

Should there be any issues simply 'plugging it in' to the aux line in on the back and then selecting "AUX" to listen to the Sirius receiver through the radio?

I'll be using these awesome directions as well
