Just tell them exactly what you have and what you want to do.

hi I’m new to this site.
my names Jesse I’ve just swapped my 5.4 into my 97 f150 5 speed that originally had the 4.6, which is best to use the 4.6 harness and pcm or the 5.4 cod and pcm. I have a brand new pcm that came out of the same year truck 97 f150 with 5.4. What all would I need to run my 5.4 with its harness and pcm. Thanks I’m advance.

hello, I'm new to this site. I just swapped a 97 Expedition 5.4 into my 97 F150 that had a 4.6. I must say this forum helped A LOT. I have a request can some one who has completed this send me pics of the vacuum lines and where you mounted the coil packs? History of the truck had a 4.6 with a manual 5 speed. Daughter was driving it and blew a head gasket when I got it back the engine block was in the bed. So any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The 5.4 PCM is not compatible with a manual transmission.

          Swapping a 1997 4.6 for a 2003 5.4

Hi, my name Is James. I have a 1997 F150 XLT with a 4.6 L automatic 4x4. The engine recently sized up on me and I'm looking to put a new engine in it. I found a rolled 2003 F150 XLT with a 5.4 L automatic 4x4. Is it possible to put the 5.4 in the 97, and if so how would I go about doing it?

I followed everything as spelled out and it works great. It is a project to do but follow everything he has spelled out and you will get it. I just have to build the 4r70w to handle the new hp from the upgraded lightning motor.

Does anyone have the pinouts on the bulkhead connector on a 97 f150.4.6 and a 97 5.4? What I'm wondering is if I replace the 4.6 coil pack harness with a 97 5.4 cop harness will the 5.4 harness plug up to my 4.6 chassis? The 5.4 harness is automatic and my truck is a 4.6 5 speed

The 5.4 uses coil pack just like the 4.6

I think what JMC is saying is just use coil packs and the harness that's in the truck. The 5.4 came with COP but it will run fine with coil packs and wires.
