...what it takes to put the Lightning frontend on a 97'

 

I'm not exactly sure on this, but I do know that the Lightning frontends won't fit on the older F-150s. You'll need to get I believe the 98 or higher bumber core first then you can get the Lightning frontend. I've got a 97, same as you, and I'm dying for this mod as well. I'm not sure what it costs to get the bumper core, but you can get the Lightning frontend from fordpartsonline.com for around $500. Hope this helps some.

 

Thanks yeah I knew that much but I needed to confirm it. I think Gary at Fordpartsonline told me It was something like 300 for the bumper core but I dont have the paper i wrote it on in front of me so I wont Swear to it.

 

If you are talking about the airdam itself, I would look around. The 'L' airdam looks nice but it is still a factory look. Search the internet and you will find airdams that are pretty damn sweet!
