Question stock airdam painted?

Has any one had a stock airdam that is that grey color painted to match the body. I have an airdam with stock fog lights for my '99 Flareside. I bought it used from a guy that had it on his 4X4. It has some scratches on it from were he went 4 wheeling. I have seen some painted, but I was concerned about how well the paint holds up on plastic. I was planning on getting it done at the dealer. Anybody have any suggestions.

Has anyone hooked up a set of stock fog lights using the wiring harness from Ford. It is designed for trucks that did not come with fog lights from the factory.

Thanks,
Anthony

My body shop guy said he would paint mine but I would not like the results. He said because the stock air dams have a slight texture to them that paint won't stick well.

However, I have read many posts here that say otherwise.

Habibi painted his and a bunch of other parts made of the same plastic stuff. It was discussed in the appearance section. It came out real glossy and nice looking.

I think this is the link.

JOHNSON505,
You might want to get him to reply and tell what they did special to get the paint to stick. And hello to a local board member. Have a buddy who just started the Sherrifs dept in Garner and starts training in the next month.

I went to the body shop today. They are well known for quality work in Louisville, KY. He quoted me $170 to paint my lower air dam. It was a little more than I thought but I am going to do it after seeing Habibi's pics.

I can't get in for another couple weeks, but I will post before and after pics. My truck is red also...

Thanks for the info. I am going to email HABBI and see how the paint is holding up on the plastic. I will post pics if I have it done.
It will probably be next month before I do it (need another pay check).
