Anyone have a "How to" on installing a billet grill into a 97 & 98 grill? The other how to's I have seen are for later models that the grill itself is seperate from the surround. Any help is appreciated.

 

Remove the black plastic filler from the top of the grille shell.

Remove the headlight assemblies from the truck by pulling upon the retaining clip on the top of the headlights and unplugging them.

Remove all the fasteners holding the grille shell to the truck including the filler panels on the bottom of the shell.

Note: You will probably have to buy new clips after.

If you have the color keyed grille shell, the grille insert is removed by chiseling off the heat sealed tabs on the back side of the shell (or as i prefer using the dremel )

Take the billet grille and place on the fiberglass reinforment so the tabs go inside the reinforcement. make sure that grille will come up flush with the back of the grille shell. Mark and drill the holes. Put the billet grille back in place and put the screws in.

Reinstall the headlights and grille shell filler panel.
