Question Need HOOD info Hail Damage

as a reault of hail damage my SCrew needs a new HOOD......

I am looking for ideas other than the stock hood. I was thinking of some kind of scoop or scoops.

Want some ideas (pics & links would be GREAT)

I want quality ---- and info on painting would be appreciated.

are there any with functional scoops.... or is this a bad thing (either proformance or warranty wise)

truck is an '01 and only 16,000 on it

I know I will get some good advice.... THanks in advance

If you'd prefer steel over 'glass, here ya go!

Reflexxion hoods

I went with the one that has the scoops. Mine's in for paint work right now, but here it is - in primer!

hdf150painter's got the same hood, see it here

Are those functional scoops on a cowl induction hood. I've been looking for one like that.

nchoman - no, the scoops are decorative. There's an indent in the metal & plastic covers fit it, forming the look you see. You could cut the metal from under the scoops, though. There's about a 2" area which could be opened w/o causing a structural problem, and the scoops would cover it nicely.

The cowl IS open, though. Here's a pic of the underside, the two center holes are open, leading to the cowl, which has a screen at the back.
