Chrome Trim

well, another L owner at the other site put some chrome door trim guard around his engine comparment, it looked pretty cool, and i was at pepboys today and saw some do i decided to pick a roll up. I did the front and back edge of radiator cover. I also did the inner fender edges. I did that lip at the top of the firewall right below the cowel, just had to notch the trim in 3 spots. And then i did my throttle body cover. Not sure what else to do, but i don't want to over-do it so i think i'm done with the edging. Next i'm going to do some minor red looming. Not too much, just want to accent a few things. Well enough talking here's the pics. What do you guys think? Not bad for 8 bucks. I'll be getting some red wire looms later this month to do some minor accenting, and then some billet pieces to match my AF1 and chrome trim.

pics...

Where would I pickup that edging??

Where did you purchase that? Do you think NAPA would have it? Is it actual crome or is it crome paint? Whats the actual name of that product! I want to go get some myself. I want to also get some braided wire coverings.

Thanks.

Thanks for the compliments guys Its been on for 2 days now and held up fine to a couple long drives.

The name on the box is "style guard door edge molding", but any chrome door guard trim should work.
I got it at pepboys for like 8 bucks. Its made out of like a rubber so its flexible and has a thin bead of adhesive on the inside so it will stick on. Its not super sticky, you can pull it off and it won't leave any goo, but its just kind of tacky inside so it holds. Even if it lasts a year, i'll be happy and its worth the 8 bucks.

Go ahead and copy it, i don't mind. I got the idea from another guy at FTW (MarkT2002L)and like he said "Copying is the greatest form of flattery" So i give the credit to him.

good luck and post pics when ya get a chance

(o yeah, i did this when the engine bay was hot so it made the trim bend easier and stay in that position. just a tip )
