painted tailgate handle

I know I read a detailed article once on how to go about doing this, but with the search down I can't find it. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Thanks!

There is a company that sells them. you just have to give them your paint code. Its another thread in the "Other Aftermarket" forum.

Yes I remember seeing that thread also, but can't find it again. Anyone remember the website if they had one?

Bill Voyles is painting the tailgate handles. Cost is about $55.00. TampaBaySVT recommended him in the lightning forum. Said the quality is excellent. Mine should be in the mail now. What you have to do is email him at bvoyles@peoplepc.com and tell him your paint code and if you want a handle with or without the lock. He will send you the finished piece. Then you send him your tailgate handle and he will give you a $7.50 refund. He is very good to work with. . .has anwered all my emails promptly when I had a question.

I painted mine quite a while ago. Just Take it of and get the paint from a local dealer it is real east because it is so small and hard to create orange peals in the paint

Doin' this week - got the power tailgate lock, so I figured since I was taking it apart anyways, I would paint the handle too. I will try and take pics on both as I do them if anyone is interested.
