I received the painted tailgate handle from Tampa's buddy up in Washington today. It looks vey nice. There are some tiny scratches and imperfections, but for $60 it was a good deal in my opinion. Of course I got the handle with out a lock since I have an electric lock.

BTW, off topic, easter have you heard anything from Spearco? Do you have the number by any chance?

I got mine 2 weeks ago looks great. I will post some pics when i take the pics of my new 20" boyd coddington rims on the truck should be getting them next week.

I just painted the handle on my L this last weekend. I sanded the handle smooth, sprayed several coats of primer then a basecoat/clearcoat in black. I also did the Bullitt fuel door while I was at it. I already had the paint from painting the tail light covers so it was basically free.

 

I was not able to find information on getting one of those painted handles without a lock. Any suggests where to find one for my red 2001 L.

Do you have the power trailgate lock? If so follow the instructions provided. They are very simple to install.

 

Hey guys I just ordered my tailgate relocater kit from sir micheals and I have my tailgate handle painted already.

If somebody with a red lightning wants to buy it, $50 bucks and its all yours and I'll ship it to you. The handle was just painted about 2 months ago and my trucks been in the garage the entire time sleeping for winter so its still like brand new.
