changing my 2004 badge for the 2009+ badges
Hey guys..
So been contemplating on getting new badges for my 04 F150XL. Been looking at the newer black one's with the read outline.
Is it easy to replace it? is there any modifications I need to do to the badge before I get it on?
Thanks

They're "easy" to remove from a skill standpoint, but it's tedious as all hell getting them off and removing the old adhesive. It can be tough to "cut" the adhesive with fishing line in order to get them off. The fender badges go right on, but the tailgate one needs to be sanded (a pretty good bit) to sit flat because of the grooves in the new trucks. The tailgate also need to have the clips on the back lopped off because it doesn't use the alignment pins like the one currently on the truck.
I've taken the stock badges off, put the new black and red ones on, then taken them off to paint the red portion white, then put them back on again. So I've had my fair share of farting around with these badges.

It does, but those 2009 flareside badges are only available in the black and chrome one-piece. I needed to take mine apart to paint and he wants those 2012+ FX Appearance package badges.
I'm thinking of just doing the Fender badges first...so I should have no problem with those then. I just don't want to stock badges..so the 09 should be okay then?
The red and black ones are FX Appearance package badges only available for 2012+ FX2 and FX4s (might be '11+). For the regular black and chrome ones, the 09s are fine. Every year fender badges will go right on!
