its all about personal preference. I tow a car trailer and i also have a fifth wheel trailer and the stock mirrors that come on the 2001-2003 f150 supercrew are wayyy to small to see anything out of. for me this is a great add on for my truck. if you don't tow and live in the city i could see not wanting them. I live in Montana and they really come in handy up here. Yes going into a bank drive through is tight but as long as you pay attention you will not hit anything. also the stock mirrors that come on the 04 and up are a lot bigger than the 1997-2003 generation thats why a lot of guys with the 1997-2003 f150s put the bigger mirrors on.

 

Makes sense, especially due to where you live and what you tow. I'd have kept my tow mirrors if I were in your possition too.

I know the mounting area looks different, but your style mirrors look pretty similar to the 04+ generation. Big and square.

Was just offering an opinion for those who maybe live in the city or need get into tighter spaces.

Definitely sounds like the tow mirrors are perfect on your truck though!

 

I tried to buy these on Ebay for the 2002.. They no longer have them in stock.. I even emailed AM Autoparts and they do not have any in stock.. Does anyone know where else we can pick these up? Towing my boat and I really need these to see the lanes better.. Thanks guys!

 

Oh, and I know it's my first post on here, so here's what the mirrors will be going on.. 2001 screw, 35s on 20s in the pic.. Have 37s on 20s now.. Will have to get an updated picture..

i noticed right after i bought my tow mirrors for my 2002 supercrew that they went out of stock really quick. you'll have to check daily or contact the company to see if they got more in stock. they are really worth getting if you can find a pair!

 

Am-auto parts says the mirrors are back ordered. there was one more company selling the tow mirrors on ebay for the 1997-2002 expedition but i can't find the ad any more they must be sold out too i assume.

No problem, if i find a company that has them in stock i will post it. I would sell you my tow mirrors but i would probably triple the price haha

 

Haha... Nah, I don't need em that bad! I guess I'll just keep trying AM and ebay... I'll let ya'll know what I find out in the upcoming weeks

 

They got them in stock on Ebay.. I bought them and installed them and they are fantastic.. Direct replacement, bolted on no problems and the connector fit the OEM like a glove.. Power mirrors work fine.. Only thing it doesn't have is the blinker on the mirror but I can live without that now that I can see the lanes behind me while trailering my 28ft center console!!

If you can't find them then look up '2002 expedition tow mirrors' on ebay. i paid $200 for mine but now they are about $330. here is the link below. keep in mind it says will not fit supercrew but expedition and supercrew front doors are the same.
