Pre-Painted Black After-market Bumpers
Pre-Painted Black After-market Bumpers
First off, my truck is a 2005 Screw XLT 2WD, solid black.
I am trying (like everyone else it seems) to change my bumpers to PTM. My truck is all black and I was looking at OEM style aftermarket bumpers on ebay and also on partstrain.com. The information says that these are pre-painted black. So, I called the company and they confirmed that they are painted black and not just primed black (they have black primed also). I was wondering if anyone else had tried these and what their opinions were. It sure seems cheap for a decently painted bumper (which makes me wonder if they are in fact decently painted).
Here are a couple of links.

Thanks for any advice. This is my first post.

My front bumper is an aftermarket OEM style, primed black. It is a direct fit, zero install issues, zero alignment issues. Had it painted in OEM paint code UA and cleared by local body shop. It has been great.
I say, buy the aftermarket bumper, primed. Not painted. Get it painted yourself to ensure you get a quality paint job. If they offer it painted for only $50 more over primed, bad sign. If they ask for $150 more for painting, another bad sign. Could cost them $25 in material and some time, and a half-@ss job. Profit in their pocket. Should cost $100 for paint & clear.
