What to add to "spiff" up my truck
People may not like the airaid filters because they're oiled, still don't really understand the reasoning behind it, but there's a lot of talk about oiled vs dry filters.
As for wiring up lights, it's not hard at all. Some lights will come with the option of ordering a complete relay harness too which makes it almost plug and play.

Oiled just seems like more maintenance and PITA to me. I'd get a 3.5 to 4 ton jack though. I always borrow my neighbor's 3.5 ton. You need a big jack because otherwise it won't have enough strength to get the truck off of the ground. 3 ton stands would be fine though. I bought my black Smittybilt bull bar from Autoanything.com for $150 - AWESOME price. I don't have any lights though cause the damn things cost more than the bull bar

Regarding the Dee Zee Tailgate Assist. It is not a tailgate step. It is a hydraulic device that will allow the tailgate to open without using your hands. Very handy if you have an armful of groceries. You do not have to support the tailgate when it is opening.

Well. Last two days have been eventful. I called a local guy who said he would do $300 out the door. Thats a Rough Country Level, Alignment, and Labor. That seems to be what im gonna do. I want a auto spring but no one within 50 Miles will install it. I would do it myself but it would cost me $200 in parts plus a $80 level and $100 alignment.
That would be a bit odd though. I'm sure they can provide certain brands for cheaper because of deals, but if someone bought an AS and wanted it installed, there's no reason why any shop shouldn't be able to do it
They said they would do my AS kit install for $120. The reason was they had never installed a AS before. I wanted a AS kit but the $80 kit plus $120 for labor and $85 for alignment was more than their $200 for everything. I love the look of the truck. They charged $200 for a rough country 2.5in level ( which is about $100 online), alignment and labor. The funny thing is that they sent the truck over to Sears. So they paid $85 for the alignment. The labor cost was only like $30. Im happy.
I'd recomend a Dynomax Bullet Muffer as well (range from $40 - $50+). It adds a nice deep one to your exhaust and the drone noise won't blow out your eardrum. That is the only mod Ive done with my exhaust and I get compliments on the sound quite a bit.
