First of all, thanks to Hollander for the tips on mounting the new Bullitt fuel door. Thumbs up, I also added 2 nuts to the 2 fastening torx screws to beef up the shall we say ANTI THEFT here. I did this in less than 15 minutes and looks from the neighbor alone convince me that he will probably want one too! I used a SVT badge I got from a friend of mine and added this to the inside of the door to cover up the only down side here being the horse is upside down, I stuck a chrome SVT badge over the pony L@@Ks sweet! Thanks guys, I believe we all benifit from this awesome site, don't you?

You're welcome, Showya!

This IS a truly excellent place to exchange ideas and share knowledge! I also placed two additional nuts on my billet fuel door to thwart the thieves!

Do you mean a pair under each screw, or a pair total? What exactly are nylocks? Any pics on your flairside install??? Thanks for any help, I have a door on the way.

Hey Ford6Mann!

I placed one addtional nut (or 2 to secure ea. torx screw) to discourage potential thieves! You've seen "nylocks", they're just a nut w/ the white plastic in the center. I secured my door with a thin rubber washer, a nylock, and a fine-thread nut.

I went to my local hardware store and purchased various thicknesses of nylon spacers and used the best for my application. When you receive your kit, you'll notice that the door will not properly align w/ the contours of a flareside. That's what the spacers are for.

Good luck w/ your installation!

Thanks Hollander, install complete! Too bad there aren't extra long torx screws supplied, you could drill out the right hand side ones, so you can put locknut on them, and it would fit flusher inside the opening. Where can I get a billet Ford emblem like you've got on yours? Any pics? Thanks again.

Gas Door

I got my gas door off of ebay, I think it was $100. It is from the Mustang Bullitt. It fit perfectly, but I did have to put washers to level it out. I have some pictures if you want to check them out.
