I have a 2011 XLT that's race red. It came with chrome bumpers and I've decided I like the race red bumpers off of the fx4. Should I try to find some bumpers or get my chrome ones painted if that's possible.

I eventually want to get a black grille but I don't really want a billet style one. Is there an aftermarket one that's all black that still has a stock look to it?

I personally think the newer f150s with the black grille look like grilles off an XL, real cheap. IMO ford should have never gotten rid of the honeycomb grille

 

Your going to hear about how scuffing the chrome and using filler primer is the way to go about painting your chrome bumpers, or how you'll have to take them to get sandblasted to remove the chrome, and have a bare surface to work with for the new paint. If it were mine, I'd look into streetscene bumper covers and painting those. I would of done that in the first place if I had not purchased a HD valance
