What's the difference between Hella Black Magic 500s and 1000s?

I'm looking to add a light bar to the front of my truck now. Several recommended Hella Black Magics so I started looking into them. However what I can't figure out is what are the main differences between the 500 and 1000's? Is it light output? I'm looking at the Randy Ellis light bar that holds (4) lights.

Thanks!

They both have H3 bulbs if I'm not mistaken. So a larger lens with the same power as a smaller lens will result in a smaller candlepower rating for the 1000s than the 500s.

The 1000's have an H2 bulb and are larger in size. They are about 8.5in H x 7.3 in W.
The 500's have an H3 bulb and are smaller. They are 6.8in H x 6.4 in W
