so i was just wondering, i want to convert my 2007 truck emblems with the 2009 sports appearance package emblem set, the red and black ones, is that possible? thanks for all the help

 

If they started making the sports package emblems after they stopped making the flaresides in 2010, then you might be out of luck. You can still get some 09 emblems and paint them.

 

I thought the sports pkg emblems were an option for the 2012 only, in FX4/FX2 trim to be exact?

I read once that the alignment pins are different so you have to break them off the new ones

 

is it possible to make a 2010+ style side tailgate badge fit our 04-08 trucks? i know the flareside ones are flat making them easy to apply but they do not make the two piece badges like posted about for flaresides..

 

I might be wrong, but I thought I read someplace that the new emblems could be taken apart? So, on that theory, couldn't you get the standard black/chrome flareside badges, take them apart and shoot the black to red and paint the chrome black?? Might just be talking out my rear on that though, somebody else should know if thats possible.

Does anyone know if the red/black emblems come in anything else then FX2/FX4? I really like them but would just feel wrong putting them on a STX.

 

The red/black is only offered on FX models with the appearance package. I'm thinking about buying a 2nd set of STX badges, stripping them down and shooting them red/black. It should be an easy mod and not too costly.

 

Well I know that these red/black emblems are actually in two pieces which would make the painting process a hell of a lot easier. But I don't know if that's how they make all the new emblems or not.

 

You sure about that? The ones you linked are FX4.
