Manual windows

Not a fan of the power windows/ locks want to possibly get them changed on a 97 f150 whats the best way to change it out by changing the innards or just going to the junkyard and pulling a couple of doors off?

I wish I could help you more directly, but my advice would be to search for that backwards. What I mean by that is most people with manual windows convert them to power (if they do anything at all). But you won't find a lot of people looking to do what you are doing.

That being said do some research on how to convert from manual to electric and then follow the steps backwards.

If you had a NBS I'd just say let's trade because I do want power windows, but that's not the point heh.

Hope that helps some. Good luck and be sure to post pics with whatever you end up doing!

If you could find entire doors the color of your truck, that'd be the way to go (probably not very likely as XL's mostly came in white). Changing out all the guts of a door has got to be a major pain.

I totally understand wanting a basic truck. I bought my truck used, and I searched for a while to find an XL that wasn't a trashed work truck. I have no want for all the "fluff" that comes in modern trucks. I can't even understand why someone would want carpet in a truck

Just completed conversion from manual to power windows for my 2003 F150. Going reverse you would need 2 manual window regulators and 2 cranks. All necessary holes should be in the door already, you just need to rivet the regulators in their place. You also need to drill a hole for the crank.
