Tint question
No, they first remove the heating elements, seperate the panes of glass, apply tint and run the truck through a dutch oven. Once the tint shrinks tight into place, they re-assemble everything, and apply a protective sheild over the elements until they cure.

When tinting over the heating lines, you will have a little bit of a distortion at the lines with the tint. This is because the tint angles up and down at the transitions. It may look a little weird for a few days, but you'll get used to it.
Also, make sure the shop is good. It often kills the defrost grid if you need to pull the tint off.

I had a place tint my rear window with defrost and it started to bubble after a while. i brought it back several times and it kept doing the same thing. I brought it elsewhere to get it tinted and they actually cut each individual defroster line out of the tint. Little pricey but it was worth it in the end!
I am very picky about my tint since i have a black truck. Adding tint really adds a lot more style!
Just my 2cents!
