PTM Bumper help

I have chrome bumpers that I'm looking into PTM my truck. I am also going to do the same with my emblems.

My truck is a 2010 Royal Red Metallic, paint code UK. I've called several places and can't seem to find or get it from dupli-color. I'm emailing them to see what they have to say.

I did find this site someone posted on here. http://www.expresspaint.com Does anyone know if this paint is any good.

Also, how many cans do i need per bumper?
And would you use any auto clear coat? Or a specific type?

JMO, but I would not spray can a bumper, espically chrome. And the clear coat you get from a spray can is junk, it has no hardner in it like the clear coats at a body shop. If I were you find a body shop willing to deal with chrome and have it painted. Or you can buy aftermarket front bumper for less then $200 and have it painted. I went this route and had my rear bumper blasted and then painted.

I have pics in my album if that helps.

Only way to get it to truely last is get new bumpers that were not chromed, have them painted by a body shop or dealer, then sell the chrome ones for the price you bought the paintable one for. I am currently in this process.

My front bumper is aftermarket. It came already primed and then had it painted. I chose this route because the front bumper is going to take alot more abuse then the back so thats why I didn't choose to paint over the chrome. The back bumper however is factory chrome, I had it blasted real good and painted over, so far it has held up real good. I figured the rear bumper is not going to be abused like the front will, like rock chips, bug, etc.
Plus, rear bumper are very high in price aftermarket or factory.

Now I will admit, I had all this done for $100 a bumper which is a steal IMO. Count the $140 aftermarket bumper, I was out less the $350.

Another option is getting them powdercoated. I was going to have mine done, but I could not find a good match for the factory Oxford white. The darker the color the better the match when it comes to powdercoating.

Yes that is the one, but mine was from a different seller. As far as it being aftermarket, it fits perfectly and looks factory. The body shop said it was well primed and the paint stuck well. Its your choice though. I tend to stay away from electrical aftermarket stuff, but the bumper is a OEM replica.

Found a local place to sandblast my chrome step bars. I was originally going to use rustoleum truck bed on them, but I think I'm going to have him powder coat them. He said he doesn't have any issue with sandblasting and powder coating chrome. If it hold up well then I'll have him do my bumpers also.

I just had my chrome bumpers painted. The shop I went to sent the bumpers off to a powder coating co. They prepped and powdercoated them, and then my shop doing the painting, painted and clear coated over the powder coating the same color as my truck. I am not sure how it will hold up but so far so good.
