FX4 Painted Bumpers Rusting Badly

Anyone else having issues woth the painted bumpers on their FX4's? Were you able to get any dealer resolution? My 2008 has 36,000 miles and the bumpers are both rusting badly. The adhesion is so bad that you can actually pull the paint off in strips. Will Ford do anything beyone the 36/36 for this issue?

Ouch.

2008 and rusting under the factory exterior paint on bumpers and paint coming off? I have a few chips in mine's front bumper, rear is perfect, 2007 with 35K.

You are right at trhe cutoff on a 3 yr / 36 K deal, have you already shown it and had the local dealer start a history on it? If not andpast the 3 yr / 36 K point, they might ... or might not.

My 04 with 116,000 miles on it is rusting too. I tried to somewhat fix it a few months ago but now it's worse. This summer I'm going to pull the bumper off and sand it all down and repaint it. It's full of rock chips. After I repaint it I'm thinking of getting one of those 3M clear covers for it to help protect it from chips.

05 ~79500K miles and NO issues with rust. My truck was previously owned in California for the first 38K miles and wasn't taken care of very well. I have no issues with rust anywhere on my truck.

Was parked outside for its first 2 years of ownership with me...now its garage kept.

If I were you I would have Ford replace my bumpers. At least meet you somewhere in a happy medium. There is no excuse for paint peeling/rusting on your truck with that low of miles unless you leave it outside in a field all year round and have exposed the metal underneath the paint to the elements.
