fog lamp bulb suggestions

i want to upgrade my fog lamp bulbs, it has the stock 9140 bulbs in it, i plan on buying sylvania silverstar h13 headlamp bulbs so i want something better/brighter for my fogs. i have seen guys switch to 9005, 9006, and 9145 bulbs. theres soo many different styles out there, which bulbs should i buy? also i have read about too high wattage bulbs melting the housings, i just want some info and input before i spent the money, thanks

Can't remember what part#, but I replaced mine with silverstars in my '07. Made a big difference in brightness and got rid of that ugly yellowish light that came from the stock bulbs.

I just peeked under my truck and they are 9145st. I paid about $35 for the pair at advanced auto parts. They are sold singly. You may be able to find them online for cheaper. Mine is an '07 with the round fogs. Check your manual to make sure you take the same style fogs.

9140- 830lm @ 40W
9145- 900lm @ 45W
9006- 1000lm @ 55W
9005- 1700lm @ 65W

All have the tri-locking retainer clips so they will all interchange. Seeing as how your truck is a 2007 with the 3" round fogs, putting in the 9005s will melt them. I'd go with the 9145s to be safe.

No problem man. I think you'll be happy once you get them changed out.
