I'm gonna try it but with the morimoto mini d2s type. The round fogs measure 3.5 inches round and 3 inch from lens to bowl. If it all fits good hopefully back of projectors will only stick out 2 inches.

Now imagine being in one of those cars parked next to the truck but driving directly at it. Cant see ****.
Which is exactly why I ONLY run the HID fogs when I'm driving out in the country on the back roads on the way to the lake. Never around town, until I retrofit them at some point.

if they are roughly the same size as the housing, then I would say just turn the back of the projector into the housing itself! lol

of maybe build a new one ouf out sheet metal and fiberglass....

I wonder if they happened to be stock fog lights from a Fusion or something.

Ford does have a few cars that utilize projector fog lights right now. Fusion being one of them.

Exactly, and know that I am not doggin you, I trust your judgement which is why I appreciate your retrofit. I was just using your picture since it is a great example to compare the OEM lighting vs. the ricer HID glare.

So I was just readin the retro fit projector thread and was wondering why everybody goes thru the trouble of retrofitting when they sell projector heads in ebay.I mean,I know they are ebay crapola but with some extra sealing.......wouldn't they be fine

The projectors on Ebay are designed for the stock Halogen lighting, and will still scatter light when fitted with HIDs. You need a proper HID designed projector to implement the high intensity lights correctly, and so far nobody offers any aftermarket option for proper HID use.

No, they were not Fusion lights. They were OEM 4" Visteon projectors that fit perfectly in the HD valance. I did some searching and Visteon did make some projectors. You can in fact buy them but good luck finding the housing that was used to mount it to the brackets

eBay projectors are designed for halogen lights. Not only that, but the lights look rediculous. Lastly, the reflector bowl is plastic as well as the projector lens. In OEM projectors, the reflector bowl is chromium alloy with a precision laser-cut glass lens in front of it and a stainless steel, heat-treated cutoff bar in the middle.

You get what you pay for.

i put 6000k HIDS in my heads and fogs with no problems and they've been in there for month and a half. I plan on doing a projector retrofit sometime next year when i have the money. this is the only picture i have of the HIDS http://www.fordf150.net/photos/membe...336-hids2.html
i should have done it outside or shut my lights off but atleast you can see what they look like
