Carbon Fiber interior. Tacky or not?
Quick step by step..
1: Pulled that dash piece off
2: Unplugged all the wires
3: Unscrew/pop off the Air Bag sensor piece, Air condition controls , and the cigarette lighter piece
4: Go inside where its nice and cool
.5: Gather tools - hair dryer, razor blade, thin hard piece of plastic(to push film into the grooves etc..)
6: Cut film to size and lay flat.
7: (and this is just the way I did it) Place dash piece in center of the film and work from the center to each end. Keep hair dryer on, and handy. Being that it's not a square and flat, youll get a lot of creases and air bubbles. hair dryer will get rid of them no problem.
8: Once I had it all smooth on the front, I went down each edge side and across the top and bottom edge.
9: After front and edges were all good, I started tackling the holes. Do one at a time. Cut slits and just got the hair dryer and worked slowly around each hole, smoothing edges, until it was all done.
10: Reconnect everything and reinstall.
Ok, it's been a couple weeks now since I put this on my dash. Verdict = Neutral. On one hand, it's a great product and looks really good. On the other, it doesn't work very well on pieces with alot of curves and holes. And in the heat(truck sitting outside or whatever), it tends to "melt" and not stick anymore in those tight places. Like around the air condition controls etc on mine.
