What kind of taillight bulbs do you use? My driver side taillight went out and just curious what everyone uses such as just any bulb or what?

If you want to know what I put in my truck yesterday, here you go.

Any 3157 bulb will work though. I needed these so my tinted tails are more visible in direct sunlight. Bright as hell is all I can say.

They use those for the front turn signals on the 04-08 trucks.

92 leds in one bulb hot damn! And that thing fit in a tail housing? Nice. I had to trim a minor little bit to get my big reverse bulb LEDs to fit.

Did you have to use resistors to repair any rapid flash? Much brighter than OEM? as in the background glow off area?

Fit in the housing no problem. I already had the new electronic flasher from when I put in my 60 LED switchback turn signal bulbs so rapid flash is gone for good. Fills the background much more than OEM and is a lot brighter in the daytime which is what I needed, since stock bulbs suck in tinted tails.

Nothing will be brighter than stock bulbs in the reverse housings, my LED bulbs look better but barely light up at all, and they are 40LED bulbs too in cool white.

Reverse bulbs are for show/alert others in these F150s.

X2. I also have leds as my reverse bulbs and they aren't that bright. Before that I had Sylvanias and they weren't any brighter than stock. My leds match so that's all that matters to me.

Darren: Stock tail bulb on left and LED on right

Yea they are. I could only imagine how bright they would be in non-tinted tails. BTW that pic is only running lights so the brake lights are even brighter.

Where do you buy your led bulbs? I'd like to replace mine so that they match my light bar under the tailgate. Also,? how many leds would you recomend for lights that are not tinted?

I bought all of my led replacement bulbs from v-leds.com
http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/f.../user/velocity
As far as how many leds, check out all of the options and read the specs for each one. Some are hi-power bulbs and others just have a large amount of leds. What I normally look at when I buy anything online are the product reviews. They can tell you a lot about a product. I got the bulbs I have because someone else reviewed them and had pictures of them in their tinted tails showing how bright they were. You could get away with bulbs with fewer leds but I guess the main factor would be how much you want to spend. My bulbs were $70, but I used a coupon back on Father's Day for 15% off so that helped.
