LED tailgate lightbars

Any reccommendations on where to get one for a good price?

I see autotrucktoys.com has them for like $60 and up.

I want a decent product, not some junk that's gonna break easy.

I have had my Recon White Lightning last winter and have had it installed for over 6 months now. Everything still works on it. I cut off the plug that comes from the factory and tapped into the 7-pin trailer wiring for it. I got it for about 100 bucks from amazon.

Here's the link to the 60" one which is what you need for the styleside bed:
http://www.amazon.com/Recon-26416-Ta...1&sr=8-2-fkmr1
It's on sale right now for $72 which is pretty awesome.

If you decide to get it and want any tips on installation just ask.

Here's some pics of it:

Tailgate off and you can see it just above the bumper:

Recon Is BY FAR the best.... I have a "stylin Trucks" brand led tailgate light bar and have had it for almost a year now and it has been through all sorts of extreme weather and still works fantastic.

Plasmaglow Fire and Ice here. I've had it for 2+ years and no problems. $69 IIRC. Shop around for your best price.

I've heard that Fire and Ice name before from a guy I know who runs a car stereo shop locally. Might go see him thursday and see if he has any in stock and what kinda price he'll give me on one.

If he doesn't have any, I might order a Recon online. I'd rather not order online and have to pay shipping, and from what I see so far, lots of places want to slap an extra fee on the shipping on this item since it's so long. Might be better off just buying local.

Hey 08Stx. i see you screwed straight into the body to hold it, does the 3M not stay put very long? I dont think id want to screw into my new truck body, even if its not really visible.

No, i used the 3M tape. The tape is on little spacer pads that attached to the bar with tiny little screws.

You can see where I had to drill a new hole because of that stupid bump that appears to have no useful reason for being there except to be in the way. Then you can see the mounting pad behind it that the screw goes into. On the back of that pad is the 3M tape.

I also used a small washer as a spacer to take a little pressure off the bar so the plastic couldn't crack in cold weather from flexing too far.

Recon Fire and Ice...I had a plasmaglow and it started to leak and fog badly after 3-4 months. Recon's been on for almost 7-8 months with no issues

Picked up my LED lightbar today and just finished installing it. Got it for $95 from the local car stereo shop where I know a guy.

Still cheaper than most of the online places after you figure in their ridiculous shipping costs. Plugged right into my 4 pin connector under the bumper, and hard-wired the reverse light off the left tail light assembly by simply splicing into the hot wire of the backup light socket.
