Dude if you swap it out your still going to get a ticket. The cops word in court that you had it on at the time will stand.

And once you put them back on since theyre smoked the same color im guessing theyre very dark. Youll get a ticket again in a couple weeks. Strip the tint and lighten it up ALOT and be happy that you wont get anymore

lol

OK the ticket is for BLACKED out taillights there not black there a very light shade of grey so thats what im using in court. Also i got a ticket last year in another car. Borrowed a friends stock taillights went to court they dismissed the ticket and I was on my way. I cant really strip them there painted and bully dog melted the plastic to adhere the paint so it not goin any where unless i sand them down and i really dont want to do that!

Yeah

Yeah and in Coppell you have to go to court to schedule Court lol but yeah its a fix it ticket. Ive looked in junk yards nothing and the ones that can get them they sell them for like 250 for a pair and it would be eaasier to pay off the ticket. I dont have the money either way im looking to dismiss the ticket. Thanks though

cant you just prove that the reflectors still shine at (IIRC) 400 ft?

no. the ticket should be for altered factory equipment. technically it doesnt matter if you can still see them, his tail lights are altered and therefore no longer DOT approved.

The law states no paint (spray tint is paint) on the lens. This is why I am not running my tinted Hellas. I'm going to work on them to make them legal.

Even if you pay the ticket if you keep the same tinted lights on your truck you're still going to get another ticket and have to pay that one, and so on, and so on, and so on.

Fix your tails or buy new ones.

duh. they could tell you they are not DOT approved. the troopers in tx don't play. just because someone manufactures a product for a vehicle doesn't make it legal. i could go down and get limo tint put on my front doors. just because someone put on there doesn't make it ligit. you must obey the law like it or not. your vehicle must be safe!

Go to the junk yard and buy some OE lights for court, then buy some DOT approved black LED tail lights. That's what I did. They're a little pricey, but LEGAL! ...and they look sweet!
