No I removed it. You just need to pull off the tail gate cover on the inside of the bed so you can access the back of the handle. Easy stuff.

Bed Rails are done. I clear coated these with a satin clear. I am noticing the fade on my cowls and flares. Will have to clear them

I also had my rear bumper line X'd

Yea, I had the same thing happen with me. The clear seems to cloud up. I think you need to do a lot lighter coats to prevent it. I am not sure though.

I also painted mine a few months ago with no clear, and its held up pretty good.

As for my bed rails, im going to get some Black Wow and give it a try since I have my roll n lock installed and I dont want to go through the mission of removing it. Depending how it comes out I'll paint it or not after...

Do you have any shots from the side? I've been wanting to do this because mine are pretty bad but seen someone else do this and it came out real shiny and looked weird as hell. I'm pretty sure he used rustoleum instead of krylon though.

I used Krylon on mine in Sept. of 09 and they are slowly getting back to how they were

Looks good man... How hard is it to take off the Wiper Cowl. That's something I need to get done on my truck?

Update!!!

So its been 1 1/2 years later and wanted to provide and update. All the pieces that lay flat against the sun have completely faded and paint has micro cracks. This includes the cowl and bed rails.

The fender flares still look decent but no where near as good when first painted. I'll try to put up some pictures.

I don't think this paint holds up to the Texas sun and heat very well. I wish I would have just replaced the bed rails at this point. I will not be repainting anything. Oh well.
