Need Help painting plastic chrome.

Need Help painting plastic chrome.

So im looking to paint the chrome around the grill black.. And im looking for some help. I thought i would pull it off, hit it with some 1000 grit, prime, then Krylon Fusion matte finish with a bit of clear.. Help me out guys!!

alot of guys here swear by bulldog adhesion promoter. never tried it myself though. but, just like any paint job, proper prep work is key. lots of sanding to get the chrome off lol.

Definitely Bulldog adhesion promotion. Everything else will fail. I painted my Roush grill, and its chipped to hell. Need to repair it now.

Sand it as best as you can with 300, 600, 1000, and 2000 finishing.
Bulldog adhesion promoter
primer
painting ( May I suggest Dupli-Color automotive paint over the un-matching Krylon black )
clear coat with Dupli-Color Acrylic Enamel, at least 4 layers.
7 day cure time. Leave it dry for at least 2 days and re-assemble, drive carefully for the rest of the week.

also i might suggest trying duplicolor clear top coat instead of the acrylic enamel. ive used both on ptm stuff with duplicolor paints and the clear top coat worked best for me

Thanks, Ill keep that in mind.. Can you pick that up any where?
