Do I need harness for DDM kit?

I'm planning on ordering the 35w h13 hi/low 6000k and 35w h10 6000k DDM kits within the next day or two. Will I be required to use the harness they sell or can I use my factory one? Going on 07 model.

Use the provided harness in the kit that wires direct power from the battery, which the other end plugs into the ballast, and your OEM connection clicks into the ballast. That way, the OEM wiring says when your light needs to activate, and the battery supplies direct power to save your ballasts and stock wiring from the stress HID bulbs put on them for cold fire up.

Thanks. I read through an older post and someone stated to change out the factory harness with the one they sale for $15 bc the factory one may not supply enough surge to the bulb.

Darren - do you have the DDM's? Does the harness that you are speaking of come with the kits?

No I dont, yet at least. Few more weeks. Couple of things have came up and money is better spent elsewhere ( watch them be on backorder when I order ). I got that from all of the DDM discussion on here. Elevator ( forgive me for mispelling if so ) The guy with the white Expo on here knows his stuff. Just pay attention to everything he says.

I want basically the same thing you do, 35w 6000k H13 bi-xenion and 6000k H10s for fogs.

The H13 hi/lo kit should have the wiring harness with it. It connects directly to the Batt and to the ballasts, it also has a connector for the hi/lo bulb socket. With due respect to DarrenWs6's post, part of it was confusing. One of the stock wiring sockets connects to a Male socket on the wiring harness (new harness) to trigger the lights and hi or low. Tape the other bulb socket up to keep water out of the connectors.

As far as the H10 set, no harness is supplied with the kit, that being said, it is best to purchase a dedicated harness for that set also as the wiring in these trucks is rather small gauge. Here is but one such harness that is available. This is like the one I use: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H10-9...Q5fAccessories

My situation is a bit different since my DDM's are wired up with the plow electronics. I needed the relay harness (which is not provided) to make mine work. Others I believe have good luck with the hi/low harness to power the ballasts, but if yours light and go out, you need the relay harness.

Plus, make sure your buy and solder up a male connector for the end of the cheap piece of junk DDM provides for hooking up your fogs. You don't want exposed connections in your wheel wells, especially if you live in an area where it snows. Road salts and all with certainly cause corrosion issues (electrical connection issues) down the road. Something like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/9006-...Q5fAccessories Just check to make sure you know which connector type works as a 9005 has a different connector key then a 9006.

With due respect SVT, the OP has the same truck we do with the fogs and has stated he is getting the H10 HID bulbs; he needs the harness as stated in my post above. Again the harness goes to the Batt and is triggered from one of the original fog pigtails thru the replacement harness, again must tape and seal the other unused oem lamp pigtail
