Experience / Recommend DDM Tuning HID Kits?

Okay - I am looking at getting the 55W H13 Hi/Lo HID Kit (5000K) as well as the 35W H10 HID Kit (5000K) for the fogs...

I know that there are many people who have their kits - I am looking for recommendation and/or experience with their systems... Is there any need to get any additional wiring harness?

Thanks guys - you guys always have great info...

Scott

When I ran HIDs I ran DDMs kit. I used the slim ballast kit and had only one issue with it, but it appears not many people have the problem. If you do, it's a very simple fix: here (post 22).

If you're okay with a moderate wait time to receive them then they're as good a brand as any. They're extremely busy lately due to the decrease in prices.

Currently I'm running Silverstars, at least until I pick up a pair of retrofit projectors or find a way to modify the stock housing such that the excess glare is extremely limited.

No problems with my DDM kits. Both are the slim ballasts. I have a 35W 6000k H13 hi/lo kit for the heads, and a 35W 6000k H10 for the fogs.

I'll pay attention to your thread because you are asking the same questions as I will be, only difference is I want 6000k for just a pinch of blue hue. Unsure of a different harness, and any other things needed to know. I know I want the bi-xenon H13 35w and H10 35w 6000ks with the raptor ballast.

I dont personally own any yet, but plan to. My brother, and two good friends have them for different vehicles (all Ford's, haha). If you purchase the bixenon kits, they come with the relay harness that should be used. If not, they sell them for $10 or $15 separately. You only need the relay harness for the heads, not the fogs.

Hope this helped,

The guys with the 6000K bulbs - are they white or are they somewhat blue? Anyone seen the 5000K in comparison? Im looking for a pure white - not blue/purple...

Thanks!

I would strongly suggest getting the $15 harness for the fogs also. Start-up for the ballast/bulbs does cause quite a spike in current and the stock wiring is pretty small, also you stand the chance of having one go out because of the low amperage wires........Just good insurance for your stock wiring.

Very slightly blue. I think the 8K will be a more true blue. I installed this kit this past week on my motorcycle and they sent me one 5K bulb and one 6K bulb by accident. I like them both but since its a motorcycle (two wheels) I rather have the pure white (5K) for better visibility.
