Recon tails and 3rd brake

I had a cracked tail light and leaky 3rd brake so I threw on some dark red smoked Recon tails and a clear 3rd brake light. (RH tail light is available if somebody needs one)

I have chrome wheels now but might go with black later so I figured the smoked red tails would go either way. And I like the clear 3rd brake light, it's hardly noticeable on my white truck. The bed light LED's have a weird purplish color to them that I'm not too fond of (since my interior and license plate lights are yellowish) but oh well.

Installation was pretty easy for both. I did have one tail light that would flicker when I first tightened it down. I loosened and re tightened and it has been fine since. Must have been pinching or pulling on a wire.

Looks great man! I love Recon products and have been thinking about the clear LED 3rd brake light myself!

i like the tails and i usually hate clear/chrome aftermarket third brake light but yours looks like it blends really well with the white. nice choice.

whoa, a non OEM taillamp that I actually like! Nice! More shots please. I just looked them up on Recon's website and dont like the matte dull look, but if they are polished and glossy looking this can be a hit.

Not exactly sure what you're saying but yea they are as glossy as factory. I like the smoked red ones better than the straight smoked ones (which don't show any red at all). They also have red ones which are a bright red like factory. There are some more pics in my gallery.

Thanks. Your photos made them look dull, which is why I asked if they were matte flat like that, or if they had any gloss to them. I've been aware of Recon lights for quite some time, those chrome smoked ones are hideous imo, the OEM ones look nice but I wouldn't buy them personally, but, these red smoked ones look great, really nice. I would definitely consider these if I have the money later on.

I asked on Recon's facebook if they would make a 3rd brake light OEM style in red, and a red smoked one. That would be awesome.

Ahh yea the pictures aren't the greatest. Cell phone pics. I wasn't sure about the combo I chose but I'm really happy with it. Sometimes impulse buys work out I guess

And thanks for the compliments guys
