? For those with projector headlights

I have a 97 F150 and it's about time I replace my headlights. I currently have after market housing with HIDs. I bought the housings before I got the HID kit and I'm not to crazy about the light shining all over but love the brightness. I remember reading before that HIDs are best with projectors but I also recently read some complaints about how much the projectors affect the light output. I'd like to get some feedback from those who are running projectors with HIDs. Would it just be better to go with a lightning style housing?
Thanks

Those who complain about lack of brightness either have halogen bulbs, coated projectors, and/or chitty projectors. Nothing compares to a good set of bixenon projectors (FX-R ) and 4300k HIDs.

Unfortunately there is not a cheap solution to this lighting problem. Any OEM projector will work fine, some are better than other (lens color, spacing, bowl design), but they all work better than any halogen housing. Projectors where designed to be used with HID lighting, Open reflector housings where designed to be used with Halogen lighting, and the TWO SHOULD NOT BE MIXED. The only safe and correct solution is expensive. If quality projectors are too expensive for your budget shop around and purchase a set of driving lights, and I can say from experience you will have a difficult time finding anything worth buying thats less than a $100. After four sets of driving lights, I am retro fitting FX-R bi-xenons into stock housing. I wanted to save money and add halogen driving lights, so far I have nearly $250 invested in lights and there all garbage. I should have just saved for the projectors.
