hey guys,
just wondering if anyone has ANY experience with adding the "chrome" handle to my ptm buckets....i know the actual outer handle can be removed from the handle itself....(i had an outside of the handle pop off on my 07 lincoln handle when opening the door, i glued it back on and kept on truckin). i would like to go on ebay and get some cheap chrome handles and just replace the outer handle without paying a whole lot for it (i paid around $300 for my 07 handles that came off the lincoln lt)....anyone with any insights??? thanks! i'll just be sittin waitn for an intelligent answer....

 

Cheapest and easiest way would be to get something like this and just stick the handle part on.

 

^^^agreed, just dont know how to rip off the outer handle and get it on my ptm handle.....is there an easy way????

 

I think all the pieces are separate. Hopefully someone will chime in that has used them.

BTW, forgot you had an 09. Not sure if the handles are the same.

 

the handles ARE the same as the 04-08 era...if you look on any of the trucks (04+) you will see the outer handles are separated from the part you grab (and, in theory, you should be able to separate).....

 

nobody has any knowledge on this???

hey thanks man, i read through the thread and PM'd the guy with instructions on how to remove them...hopefully i'll hear back from him!!! thanks again...

 

so i got the PDF, but that just deals with taking the whole door apart (been there, done that on my 07) im looking at just removing the outer "handle" from the entire handle you grab....use a heat gun perhaps??? like i said i did the LT mod on my 07 and one day the outer handle just fell off in my hand so i think with some outer type of "help" can remove them....and just glue on the chrome caps...

 

I'll look into it this weekend, like I said in the PM I have my stockers still in a box somewhere.
