xentec Hid

Having a problem with the setup of my Hid Kit, everything seems to be working normal except the high beam light signal on my guages is on and when i flash my highs the light signal gets brighter and my headlights stay on and fogs turn off. Any HELP?????

Look up "bambi mod" in the 2004-2008 section and that should fix the problem

I've had my "cheap pieces of crap" longer than you've had your truck

Still have to do the Bambi mod.

As for the other, turn off perimeter lighting. I think there's a How To in the technical articles. Also, don't use the Auto setting for the headlights (if you have it). Just turn then on manually after you've started your truck. HIDs don't like the voltage drop that comes with starting a car.

The bambi mod has nothing to do with the highbeam indictator staying on. Xentech has horrible products. Stick with something you know, like fast food. After burning through 2 sets of xentech lights on my truck, 1 on my friends, and one on my off road lights, I lost all respect for their products. The ballasts fail within no time.

To prevent one of the lights from turing off you need to get a relay for the HID's. That way they get the correct voltage when they receive the ignition signal.

Pretty sure I've read the high beam indicator deal happening with other kits as well. Something to do with the way the HIDs work, and how the fog lights and high beam circuits (the indicator is part of it) are tied together.

As far as the quality of Xentec, that part I'm not sure on. As you said, find something that works, and stick with it.

Ive seen the xentech/ebay kits fail many times and there is absolutly no warranty with them. With DDM you save money, get a lifetime warranty, and the people actually back their product. There are not problems like the ones mentioned with a DDM kit or a Retro-Solutions kit.
