Exclamation HIDs

What is yalls opinion. I'm thinking about picking up a set for better visability than my stock headlights. But im unsure because of issues with glare and blinding people, and cops. I guess they are technically illegal? What are yalls experiences. Pics are great too. Im thinking about 35w 6000K from ddm.

35w 6000k is an excellent choice. They are technically illegal, because they were originally developed for projector housings. But most cops won't pay you mind unless you have them aimed higher, blinding everything in your path.

I have mine headlights aimed about 2" lower than my halogen lights, and I can see just as far becUse the light carries out more. But as long as you take mind to the other drivers, and aim your light enough to not blind the crap out of them, your good.

HIDS are amazing, but you definately need a clear housing with a glare cover. And or course aim them down. When they are aimed correctly, they are awesome.

I rock 6k's in my headlights and fogs and I light the crap out of the road...the car in front......the car in front of the car in front.....the street sign down the road....the road reflectors..lol!!!!!

I got both kits off of ebay for 45 bucks each and I had them on for about 2years now..

Unless you get projectors, I wouldn't bother with HIDs. I ran them for 2 years because they looked cool. But in reality, their performance wasn't amazing because you lose high beams and they are very blinding to oncoming traffic no matter how far you aim them down (especially in the rain). I switched to Silverstars and while not as bright as HID, the high beam is far superior and it lights up the road, not everything in all directions.

I've been debating whether or not to get HIDs for some time now. I have stock halogen head lights right now, but my brother and all my buddies are rockin HIDs in their trucks. They are really bright, they blind cars even when aimed properly. Being the nice guy that I am, I just decided to keep my stock halogens till they burn out, then I may opt for HIDs.

When I need to light up the road I have 4 Hella 4000s on a light bar that are all converted to HID using VVME kits off ebay. When I see someone with HIDs driving down the road and they blind me a little bit I just flip those on and X-Ray them hahaha

I installed my 55w 6000k HIDs from ddm tuning about a month ago and I am extremely satisfied with them so far. They are super bright but I have only been flashed once or twice. Also I turned right in front of a cop at night and shined them right in his windows and nothing, so no cop trouble to report as of yet either. I would reccomend getting them, for 75 bucks u cant go wrong

Here in southern Cali, 8/10 trucks on the road have HIDS. Very rarerly are they blinding me. As long as your headlights have a glare cover and are pointed down or at oem specs, they are fine. Mine are aimed a littl high, and I've been flashed only twice in about 3 months. I really think that they are a great mod and make your truck stand out at nigh, as well as being able to see the whole road ahead of you. Anything over 8000k is too much, though. 55w is really the way to go vs 35w. Keep 35W to your foglights.

chevy man what you need is the TYC headlights for the 88-98 silverado, they were made specifically for HIDs as they came with a kit already installed and have the perfect cut off but they're super RARE i've seen them on ebay for about $250 shipped brand new
