Relay for HID?

Im ordering a set of HID's from DDM turning and im wondering if i need to order that relay thing thats there seperatly.

Im asking this because with our daytime running lights wont then HIDs not work since daytime lights are like only half power?

Let me know what you guys have done of if you done anything. Thanks!

If you ordered a hi/low kit from DDM, it "should" come with a relay. As for the daytime running lights, you will have to disable them in order for your HID's to work. It's as simple as unplugging the DRL Module under the front drivers side up near the stock foglight location.
Check out this link for the info

No, just 1 relay kit. It has connections for both sides.

You only need the relay for the headlights, and only if they will be bi-xenon bulbs. Low beam only kits do not need the relay.

Also, you do know with the setup you are ordering, the headlights will be white and the fogs will be blue, right? Just letting you know.

As said above, you don't need to use a relay. It's always a good idea to have one, though. Granted, I only run one for my low beams. Might get one for my fogs when I get them.

What advantage would the relay have though? I guess I'm confused on why bi-xenons come with one, but low beam only don't...

a relay just draws all the power for the lights straight from the battery instead of through the smaller factory wires that could burn up. bi-xenon bulbs draw just as much power as a low beam only or fog light bulb of the same wattage so yes relays are need for all of them. you can get away without using a relay but a lot of times your hids will flicker when starting up or just not turn on because of the lack of power through the small factory wires.

The Hi/los will come with a relay, but the fogs dont. You should order a relay for the fogs to keep them from flickering.
I have that same setup except I got the 4500k for the fogs.

well my fogs are basically wired to the battery, just through a switch first, then I spliced into the stock wiring at the relay/fuse box in the hood. That should be ok right?

Ok, so 5k heads and 4500k fogs would be a better, whiter match?

Yes. I would believe so. On my truck (99-03) the fog lights reflect the bulbs different than the heads, so my 55W 5000k are whiter than my 35W 4500k fogs, but just by a tad bit.

If all else fails, and this happens to you, you can always sell the 4500k and buy a set of 4300k from someone else, since DDM doesn't carry 4300k.
