TopHid Kits

I hope you read this and think hard about ordering from them. I called them because I knew nothing about Hid lights. They said I needed a H13 kit and I did not need a relay. I ordered it. It came in about 4 days. I went to install this "Plug and Play kit" well when the bulbs didn't fit and I had to modify a gasket I should have stopped. But I kept going, Then the bulbs wouldn't fit into the wire harness. when I called tech support they told I had to crimp the end of the connector to get them to fit into the Ford wiring harness. Since I live in Vermont I decided I did not want the connectors exposed to the elements, so I used Heat shrink connectors. When I finished the install only one bulb worked. So I called Tech support again. This time they said I needed a relay. Thought they said I did'nt need one, oh well. I had them overnight one to me.
The next day I got the relay with no instructions. So I called for some instructions. After I installed the relay only one bulb was working. I even tried to switch the ballest to make sure it was working. I called Top Hid again. This time they said if I sent them the bulb they would replace it. But in the meantime my truck has no headlights because I had to cut the wire harness to make them fit. They would not send me a new bulb without recieving mine back first.
They were very rude and are not willing to help at all. The instructions are not vehicle specific. I am now taking the whole kit out and sending it back. I have to order new Bulb wires from Ford for $65 each and will have tomorrow.
Please do not buy from them They suck.

While TopHID seems to be a bunch of jackasses, I would also say that lack of experience or research caused at least part of your problems.

1) You should always use a relay, even if they tell you that you don't. The is to prevent your car from catching fire. If a HID seller tells you that a relay is not needed, you shouldn't buy from them. I think this topic has been discussed ad nauseam on just about every automobile forum.

2) If the bulb doesn't fit, it's not the right bulb. Have them replace it, don't start cutting your gasket or anything to get it to fit.

3) You don't need to cut off the connector off to tap into it, you can get taps from Home Depot, Radio Shack, etc that is a much better choice for this type of work.

Despite your problems, this really isn't a difficult thing to do. You should look for another reseller and try it again. Hopefully with better success.
