Dealers here sell them for spare winter set-ups

Everyone here, well the majority buy a second set of rims, usually steelies cause they are cheaper, and then put winters on them. Gotta save the good rims for those warmer non salted road days.

Well I guess I can agree. I hate seeing pics of my truck with the XLT wheels on, the only good looking OEM wheels are FX4s, Lariats ( non gold though ) and the 20s, but im not a fan of the look of 20s much. I still have my Generals on XLTs in the garage just incase the salt hurts my XDs appearance this winter. I'm lanning to wax them good but I cannot afford to buy winter tires/new tires in general and re-use them, nor do I want to re-use the XLTs. If I could afford to I would buy FX4 wheels and put 265 or 285 BFGs on them and use them for winter, and highway driving.

I'm a big believer on a second set of rims/tires, what ever they might be, for the winter. Save them favorites for the good days Darren. Add besides thats just less mileage on the good ones, which would have you running them for years more than the next guy.

yeah, BFGs would cost $800 or do, then FX4 wheels themselves $300 or so, even FX4 take-offs with the BFG all seasons would be near $700 - $800. Pricewise if I was to do anything I would be best off putting tires on the XLTs, something in a 32", but I dont think I will. I bought a house this year and a $2400 wheel/tire pkg, i'll wax them up very good in multi layers and maintain them after every highway ride. Maybe i'll be doing better moneywise next year.

Wise choice. If I could pick my winter look it would be the 17" aluminum wheels.
