Retro-Solutions: My HID Solution

I figured I would share my HID success story. There are so many threads that are asking about HID's and which ones to go with. After trying multiple sets I have found the ones that are perfect. They are from www.retro-solutions.com. I have 3 sets in my truck (heads, fogs, KC daylighters) for over a year now, my dad has 2 sets in his truck, and I have 3 friends that all have at least a pair. We have had nothing with great success. After burning through 2 ebay brand HID kits I was beginning to give up but figured I would try one more time. I am a light fanatic and love lights. I want them to be the brightest and best performing, without ruining my budget. These have been perfect. The customer service is great. Todd (the owner) responds to emails at all times of the day (and even night, lol). During my first installs I ran into a few difficulties (Dodge's darned computer controlled lights) but even at 11pm he responded quickly and got me going again. I had a bulb go out for some unknown reason. With the lifetime warranty and 3 days later I had a new one at my house and installed. They also include all relays needed to make them perform flawlessly. If yall have any questions ask me or shoot Todd an email at sales@retro-solutions.com.

Just figured I would spread my knowledge and maybe give a few others some good bright days ahead of them.

As soon as I get a chance I will snap some new photos.

I have had excellent service with Todd as well. A+ business IMO (and great products of course)

All i can say is that i dont want any of us to pull up behind me with these lights

Love the pic of ur dads 09. really catches the beauty of the truck.

In real life they arnt that bad. If the pic wasnt with a camera phone from extremely close to the truck it would be better. They look more like my fog lights.

^Ive got the same kit as you only 9007 bulbs and they are a lot brighter than most factory HIDs, Ive compared em to my dads 04 mini cooper S and I blow his away. cant wait to do the fogs and KCs behind my grill.

how was the install on the KC lights? I have 4 Hellas that need some HID treatment. can you give me a run down of the wiring? i have a HID retro in my headlights so I understand that. I looked at the H3 kit and i didnt see a relay? did you use one? any info is welcome.

I did not use a relay on my KC lights. However I will probably in the future, either that or run a thicker wire. Sometimes they both dont fire on the first try. The install was simple. Basically you take apart the light. Remove the old bulb. Lock the new bulb in its place. Then connect them just like normal. You can undo the stock wiring as it is replaced with the HID connections. I had to drill out the back of my KC light to allow the connector to fit through. The hole just had to be made a little bit larger. Then I just used some clear sealant to make sure it doesnt get water in there.
