mine are tinted and I am a cop

they are legal as long as the light is visible when braking from 500 ft. In some states you need to look at the statute for reflectors. For my state it is required that reflectors are visible if hit with light and some red shows during daytime driving. Mine are more than legal here in my state.

I think they have a good amount of tint. You could def go darker if you wanted to.

Haha wow! Those are pretty dark. Mine still have a small tint of red and are dark, but they are no where near that. I am going to finish them asap but it wont stop raining... not to mention that its like 60 degrees here all week. I want to do them, and my corner lenses. I am tired of that much orange on the front.

Right now mine are more than visible from 500ft with just the parking lights on. I dont have the OEM bulbs though. My dad replaced them with what he says is a brighter bulb, so I may be able to get away with being really really dark.

Dude you have no idea how much blacking everything out on your truck did for it. It looks sweet! Does your third brake light have the white lights in them or was it a solid red light? Mine has two back-up type lights and I am going to have to mask off those.

Black license plate cover FTW!

I know dude I can't believe how much it's changed and so fast. The 3rd brake light is just straight red one bulb. On my tails though I did do a light coat over the reverse lights which in my opinion was a very good decision cuz it doesn't effect the light output really by gives it a smoked greyish look.

I'm gonna have to get a new 3rd brake light soon since the one I have is on it's last leg. The plastic is in real bad condition and up close there are little lines in the nightshade for some reason that won't sand or buff out. I think its just time for a new one.

I saw on another thread that there is a black Texas license plate which I may perdue this wired when I have to get the truck registered
