Leveling Kit Advice

I would like to level my truck and am a novice in regards to suspensions.
What would you all recommend to level out my 2006 Lariat 4x4 SCab w/20" wheels. I just want it to sit level... 2"? 2.5"? 3"? What make or style...? Any input would help greatly.
Thanks,
Steve

I'm not sure what the difference is between a leveling kit and drop shackles, bit I just got a pair of drop shackles from AutoZone for $30 and mine sits level now.

I have a 2" leveling kit... It's perfect... Do not go with a 3" kit because it will give the CV joints a severe angle which will cause premature ware and will be very costly in the end...

I see some people mention a 2.5". How can I best tell what would work best for my truck... measure from the ground to determine the difference? Also, what brand would you recommend? How is Hell Bent...?

PS: Love the picture in your gallery of the Ti Laptop in the cab. Is that one of the original Titaniums? I still have my 500Mhz G4 Ti from 2000.

You have an '06, I have an '07 not much of a difference. Most leveling kits are the same, just a spacer... They come in steel, aluminum, and plastic... Stay away from the plastic... I preferred the painted steel type... Brand names are not significant go for the best price...

All the manufactuer's ive seen recommend a 2.5. the best price is $99. except for ebay. they say to measure from the top of the tire sitting on level ground. i recently had an 06 as well. done a considerable amount of research as well.

Well I'm using Bilstien 5100 shocks, with a 2" level adjustment built in killed two birds with one stone, and I LOVE these shocks ) and it seems just right. Yes, if you break out with a tape measure, it might be 1/2" lower in the front, than in the rear. But this way, I can add a little garbage in my bed.... or hook up my light aluminum boat to it, and it doesn't look like it's squatting so much.

2" or 2 1/2" will probably be fine either way. 3" is too much.

Peace,
Fish

I measured the wheel well height difference on my 2007 FX4 and it was just under 2 1/2" from the factory. I wanted to keep it level, so I went with the 2" AS level kit on eBay for $70.

Unfortunately, the truck was lifted more than 2 3/4" by the spacers, so I was sitting about 1/2" higher in the front. It was even worse when I added any weight to the back and when I was towing my boat. Please be aware the same thing may happen to your truck.

Stock Except for 2" AS:

I drove around for several months with the front higher, and finally decided to add a set of 2000# SuperSpring helpers for towing and replace the 2" factory rear block with a set of 3" ReadyLift blocks.

This combination gives my truck a 1" rake from the back to front and allows me to tow without the bulldog look.

3" ReadyLift Blocks and 2000# SS Helpers:

I have a 2" I think 2.5" would be ok, on my truck I would sit a little high in the front. 3" is too much
