before i got mine i emailed the seller too make sure that HIDs would fit in the housings but he never responded either. you can hardly notice the clear reflector..

the light output (especially with HIDs) is definately a huge improvement over the stock light diffuser, or whatever the heck theyre called, lenses

Yea, even with just a regular halogen bulb, the output is much better.

mine are the regular L knockoffs with a LED chipset as the corners. In the center are 4x white DRL LEDs burning at 4500K (almost perfect match of my HIDs at night) and the 14x orange LEDs only come on with a turn signal. So even at night you are running orange-less

some people love them, others hate them. for me, functionality > looks and I've got a matching pair of LEDs in the rear lights too, soooo.... besides, i like to strange away from the crowd ^^^ (all with the L turn signals)

migdaddy have you thought about buying a set and then just taking the reflector out? All the 04-08 guys bake their stock headlights and open them up

I think I'm really starting to like the one raptor has...might just have to go with those. Im in the process of LED'ing out all the lights I can on the truck, so this will be a nice step.
