I wish I could do that, but its pretty big time illegal in San Antonio. Pretty cool to see someone else from here. But my buddy got pulled over for smoked tail lights and he had to go to court to prove got them "fixed" not to mention the fine. I dont feel like wasting the time on it. I looked up the code and everything and its illegal. I wanted to get blue parking lights too with cleared lenses. Haha little to my knowledge thats illegal too, but what isnt these days?

good choice. you wont be able to see jack squat with blacked out headlights either.
as far as the legality goes, i had very dark tail lights on my truck for over a year with no problems. i got pulled over once and the cop didnt even mention them. it all depends on the area.

i think getting rid of the chrome would look alot better though. if i was you i would get rid of the side steps too

I think it looks better blacked out, as well. It will take you some time to paint or replace all the items, but it will look better in the end.

You might be able to find some after market lights which are darker. I went with the Ford OEM Harley Davidson tail lights on my truck. They are slightly darker than the normal ones and completely legal in all states.

Yes blacked out. As in getting rid of all the chrome by making it black. I agree with all of you though that its looks alot better without the chrome. I work at a paint and body shop, and am pretty good friends with the owner. We have a sandblaster and I know thats what I would have to use to get rid of all that chrome. I guess I would have to just do that parts all individually but Im sure I could get them all painted in a weekend or so. I just need to find out if I want to paint stuff on this truck and lift it or keep the truck the way it is and buy an already lifted 4x4, because this truck isnt 4x4. Two trucks I think will be better than one. But I wanted to see how it looked with the black. And who knows I may end up doing this anyways.

Im not sure if I would do that. I know it would make the truck look higher, but they have kinda grown on me. I dont know that I would want to get rid of them, but I dont like the chrome look.

Im wanting more of the smoked out look so that the tail lights dont appear bright red but more black than anything. And whats bad is that I see people with little riceburner cars with smoked tailights driving around all the time, and I know the day I get smoked tail lights on my truck Ill get pulled over for it. Thats my luck

Thanks!!! My blackout process took me about a month once I really started to work on it and I am finally done.... for now...

I bought my tire/wheel package at rimzoneonline.com for $2076 shipped to my door. I also wanted to smoke my tail lights like the third brake light I bought, but I wanted them to look as close to factory as possible. Several members have used Nightshades paint with good success, but I did not want to run the risk of getting pulled over for my rear lights. The HD tails were a compromise which gave me a darker factory look, while staying legal. They were $100 for both at tascafordparts.com.

Your truck looks pretty nice as blacked out as it is.If it were mine, I think the only thing I would have done different is the way the exhaust pipes come out the back. But then again I did mine out the back too anyways . I prefer the after axle dump off.

2076 isnt bad. I was wanting black matte rockstars with 35inch toyo mt's and it is goin to cost me about 2450, but thats installed, balanced, all that stuff.

I envy the people that can drive around with limo tint on all the windows and blacked out tail lights. Im the kind of person that gets pulled over for having my inspection sticker one day past due. hahah
