Headlight Painting Options

I just got done nighshading my 05 square fog lights... looks really good better than antisipated! Just wondering 2 things nightshading my factory chrome headlights(just over the lens) would be stupid because of all the rock chips and crap right? or did someone do it

2 if i didnt do the above if i did seperate the lens and bezel (which i really dont wana do.. I have bad luck! much skill but bad luck) and just took strait nightshades to the chrome would it give me that like matalic look? or would it look like crap because i wouldnt be able to etch it up at all?

Anyone got idias trying to keep the price down a bit just invested in a 6 in and im only 20 so u can figure it out

if not anyone got some heads for sale? (fx2's, Harley's, already painted, hellas? tell me what ya got)

you can nightshade over the headlight but i wouldn't go too dark (police). i don't think the nightshade would stick to the chrome very good but if it did the chrome would have a "black chrome" look. i say pull them apart and paint the headlights.

if you don't want to pull your's apart then just buy some ebay knock offs.. they go for about $120 shipped and look like the fx2 headlights

but if you do buy them make sure to run some silicone around the headlights to stop them from fogging up

Pay special attention to the wording in their descriptions -- "OEM STYLE". They aren't OEM HD headlights, they are, in the dealer's own words, "High quality after market headlights". I deleted them from my watch list when they told me that. I have a real distaste for after market companies after I got some bad ones for my Civic a few years back. I'll stick to OEM, thanks.

If you do get them, they may be ok if you just put some silicone around them, as mentioned above.

If you are going to remove the lens you may as just well paint the chrome interior shell imo.
