My method , sanded with 150 grit, basically till the chromes almost gone and the paint i used is called Rustoluems paint for plastics with texture , i really like the rustoluem paint , it seems thicker than krylons fusion spray and it has a nice rough texture. i painted mine back in october and in withstood the NJ winter and numerous car washes , with minimal chips , which werent even noticeable.

So you used a textured paint... so i can assume that you prolly did not clear it afterwards?

My only hold back to this is exactly what you brought up!Though I dont do alot of highway miles so rock chips are few and far between but knowing my luck there would be a dang rock on a seek and distroy mission for my freshly painted grill

and not to put anyone down here.... swear im not but please correct me if im wrong but the roush grill and the fx2 grill really arnt that far off! I compared pictures and the only real noticible diffrence is that there is a extra slat on the roush grill making each maybe a a bit smaller... Here where i live no one has jacked up trucks, no one has tricked out trucks, and therefor ive never seen them in person so please CORRECT me if im far off

I'm not sure how different they look in person. I wanted a FX2 for the color (gun metal gray). Roush are chrome. I think both look good just depends on if you want dark or chrome. Or you could also paint either one to what ever color you want.

mxracer that is awsome what you did there obviously I cannot do that... i really got to be honest I really like my Headlights.... any chance you could do that again leave the heads alone tint the fogs? and slap the saleen on there and if not to much work slap the roush on there? with chrome heads and tinted fogs? and if not to much work on top of that... could you do the chrome roush and the painted black?

I KNOW IM PICKIE I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT THO MAN!

Sounds like your leaning towards the black. That would definitely look good.

Anyways, here's mine.

If you're keeping your heads stock and with the chrome bullbar I say go with a chrome roush. Just my opinion.

if you plan on keeping the headlight chrome then i would go with a roush upper and lower grill.
IMO you should paint the headlights black and go with the Saleen or a roush painted black.. the theme that you have going will look SICK with black heads and a black grill. i think the chrome heads stick out like a sore thumb

I would go with the Roush. i remeber reading FoMoCo466's order thread and he said the Roush was a stronger grille than the fx2, it had sturdier support bars in the back. I love my Roush and got a lower chrome insert for my bumper off ebay
