Driving me up the wall!
Driving me up the wall!
A month ago I installed a T-Rex grille on my 06 F
. I didn't have any problems with the install an love the look, but driving to work later that afternoon I noticed a problem
. When I get over 50-55 mph I can hear a tone coming from my new grille
. It sounds like someone blowing over the top of a glass bottle and the sound changes with the wind or traffic on the highway. I would like to know if anyone els has had this problem, or is there any thing I can do to stop it, or I'm I just going to have to live with it
.
Thanks, Trent

so the problem occured immediately after installation? i would first check all bolts, then if that dosent fix it, maybe a rigged air duct behind it may alleviate some of the pressure building up in front of it
I had a billet grille, that I just replaced tonight as a matter of fact, that did the same thing. Sort of a whistle but then goes up in pitch as you go faster. I originally thought it was something weird with my tires, but changing back to stock tires didn't resolve the issue.
Ive had it off once but I will check the bolts again just to be sure, and if that dont work ill try the duct idea. Ive also tried to put a dot of silicone at the end between the bars to keep them from vibrating but it was a no go. I also mite call T Rex and talk to them.
